What do you need to know before your travel to Slovakia?
Costs
We have worked hard to keep the Reflection Retreat as accessible as possible for everyone
in our community. The ticket price is 200 EUR per person. This fee covers:
- 3 nights of accommodation
- Full board (breakfast, lunch, dinner, coffee breaks)
- All retreat activities and materials
Please note:
- Travel costs to and from Slovakia (airfare, bus, train) are not included.
- Visa costs, if needed, are also not covered.

Accommodation
You will be hosted at the Hotel Pod Lipou in Modra, a small town located right in the heart of Small Carpathian Mountains, approx. 40 minutes drive from Bratislava. The hotel offers:
- Double-room accommodation (sharing with another participant)
- Private bathrooms and free Wi-Fi
- Location right in the middle of the forest
As a special treat, participants will have access to Spa&Wellness area directly in the hotel. Don’t forget to pack your swimsuit! 🧖♂️🧖♀️

Recommended Hotels in Bratislava (if you wish to explore the capital before/after):

- Downtown Bratislava B&B (very popular hostel with a great restaurant)
- Or Airbnb apartments are also widely popular and accessible
Recommendation: When searching for a place to stay look for those located in Stare Mesto, which is the very center of the city.
Getting around
Use the local Taxi app Bolt for safe and affordable rides (no cash needed!). This app gives you access to affordable, reliable taxis right at your fingertips.
Simply connect your credit card, and you’re all set for a smooth and seamless ride around Bratislava.

Expect mild and comfortable weather in Modra, Harmónia:
- Daytime: 20°C to 25°C
- Nighttime: 11°C to 14°C
Packing tip: Bring a warmer sweater and a light jacket for evenings,
comfortable hiking shoes for wandering around the forests and a swimsuit for spa time!

- ATMs are widely available around Bratislava (there are a few even in Modra, but you need to take a public bus to reach Modra from our Hotel).
- They take cards in most places, but it’s always good to have some small amount of money in cash just in case.
Local Fun Facts
- Bratislava is the only capital city in the world bordering three sovereign states – Slovakia, Austria, and Hungary- and is less than an hour from the capital of Austria – Vienna and two hours from the capital of Hungary – Budapest.
- Historically, a local in “Pressburg” (as was Bratislava once known) might have changed languages with the sun: speaking Slovak at the morning markets, Hungarian for afternoon business, and German for evening theater.
- From 1536 to 1783, Bratislava was the capital of the Kingdom of Hungary, with 11 kings and queens crowned in St. Martin’s Cathedral.
- Despite being the national capital, the Bratislava region is the smallest of all Slovak regions.
- A pedestrian and bicycle bridge connecting Bratislava to Austria was almost named after Chuck Norris – Chuck Norris Bridge. Although the name won a public internet vote by a landslide, officials eventually chose the more diplomatic Bridge of Freedom.
- The SNP Bridge (Most SNP) features a unique flying saucer-shaped structure (similar to UFO) that houses a restaurant and observation deck.
- Located in the Small Carpathians, Modra is a major center for wine-growing, with many historic wine cellars and a rich tradition of viticulture.
- The town is world-renowned for its traditional ceramics, known as Modranská majolika.
